Akira Yamaguchi
Born in Gunma prefecture in 1969 (Showa 54). Completed the doctoral course in oil painting at the Department of Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. While using oil paintings, he is presenting humorous works that weave modern figures and landscapes into the images of ancient and modern east and west in a technique reminiscent of ukiyo-e and Yamato-e. Active in a wide range of genres such as book binding and fusuma painting.
