SKU: 4906018418768

Inspired by river stones, the Tetsu Cast Iron Door Stopper can also function as a paperweight. This handcrafted stone is made from Nambu cast iron, a material used in Japan since the 17th century. Dense and smooth, this object makes an elegant first impression at the door or on your desk. Three silicone feet on the bottom to prevent scratching of surfaces

Nambu cast iron was first made in the middle of 17th century in Iwate, northern Japan, the area rich with this material. A master from Kyoto was summoned by the lord to create an iron pot for a tea ceremony, and signifies the beginning of the nambu-tekki (cast iron) craft. It became exemplary of Japanese traditional craft, and is still popular today.
